At CardBox, we value your trust. This Privacy Policy outlines how we collect, use, and protect your personal information while you use our digital identity and service directory platform. By using CardBox, you agree to the practices described in this policy.
Public vs. Private Data
CardBox operates as a public directory. It is important to distinguish between private and public data:
- Public Data: Information you add to your "Digital Card" (Name, Business Phone, Service Category, Work Photos, Location) is visible to everyone. This is necessary for customers to find you.
- Private Data: Your account password, payment details, and OTPs are encrypted and never shared publicly.
1. Information We Collect
- Account Information: Name, email address, phone number, and password.
- Usage Data: Information on how you interact with the app, search queries, and profile views.
- Device Data: IP address, browser type, and location data (if enabled) to show nearby providers.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use your data to:
- Create and manage your Digital Identity.
- Connect Service Seekers with Providers based on location.
- Process payments for premium listings.
- Send important account updates and security alerts.
3. Data Sharing & Security
We implement industry-standard security measures (encryption, secure servers) to protect your data. We do not sell your personal data to third parties. Data is only shared with:
- Payment Gateways: For processing transactions securely.
- Legal Authorities: If required by law or to prevent fraud.
4. Your Rights
You can access or edit permitted CardBox information in your account. To delete your account, open Account > Privacy & account in the CardBox app. Deletion hides the account immediately and starts the recovery period described there.
